Zuma Joins Venn: Kelsey Now Manages Your Entire Resident Journey

A note from Shiv Gettu, Co-Founder of Zuma, on why we are joining forces with Venn. First, let me share our Zuma founding story, then get into exactly why Zuma is merging with Venn, and what it means for our customers.

If you're reading this because you saw our announcement, you're probably wondering: “Okay, but what does this actually change for me?”

Coming from a leasing background myself, I'd wonder the exact same thing. So let me share our founding story first, then get into exactly why Zuma is merging with Venn, and what it means for our customers.

Our Vision for Kelsey and AI Agents

For the last five years, we've built and deployed operational agents for multifamily. Kelsey, our leasing, collections, and resident communication AI, became one of the best in the class in multifamily leasing. Kelsey did more than automate conversations. She became an extension of your team.

We built deep on purpose. Every prospect who talked to Kelsey talked to something that sounded like your property, not a script pulled off a shelf. Your brand, your tone, your voice, all baked in from day one. Your teams noticed, and told us so, again and again.

That trust is what led you to ask us for more. Not another vendor, not another point solution bolted onto the stack. You wanted that same bespoke intelligence extended across the rest of the resident journey: maintenance requests handled with real context instead of a generic ticket, move-outs treated with the same care as move-ins, applications and screening that felt like part of one continuous relationship instead of a handoff to a different tool entirely.

And of course, we want to build all of it!  But how could we do that while ensuring we aren’t defocusing and losing what made your Kelsey special? The market has plenty of out-of-the-box AI point solutions. We knew custom agentic workflows were the path to real value for our customers. The wall we ran into was creating an infrastructure to support custom built agents at scale… So we realized we could use a partner who had already solved the infrastructure problem. That partner is Venn.

Enter Venn, The Multifamily Infrastructure

With Venn, every operator gets their own Company Brain, a live, working model of your business, built from your data, your knowledge, and your way of operating.  Agents with a Company Brain can access context across the entire business instead of being limited to the narrow workflow they were built to run.

This is not two companies filling gaps in each other's product. It is two teams arriving at the same belief from two different directions: AI agents go from helpful to transformational when they sit on an infrastructure purpose-built for the real estate industry and shaped to the exact way each operator runs their business. We are building toward that from the AI agent side. Venn was building it from the infrastructure side. Joining forces was less a negotiation than more a recognition of complementary skillsets.

What Kelsey Can Do Now

With Venn, Kelsey is ready to turbocharge your leasing velocity and, ultimately, the entire resident funnel that follows it; from first inquiry through move-in and beyond. Imagine a world in which Kelsey first meets Dan, a new lead, he is looking for a dog-friendly 2 bedroom, 2 bath with the earliest possible move in date at $4500 rent. Kelsey, books Dan for a tour with your Leasing Assistant.

But Kelsey doesn't stop at the booked tour. She can access every data point on Dan sitting in your own Company Brain: his dog, his budget, his birthday, his timeline, every detail from that first conversation. So when Dan shows up onsite, your leasing team already knows to walk the pet-friendly courtyard first. When he applies, Kelsey carries that same context into the application instead of making him repeat himself to a different system. Once he signs, Kelsey doesn't disappear: she's the same agent who can help him submit a maintenance request after move-in, answer a question about renewal terms six months later, and recognize him not as a new ticket each time, but as the resident she's known since his first message.

It's your data, your context, your systems, your residents, your infrastructure. That's what sovereign AI actually means, not a product you rent, but an intelligence you own. Your data is entirely yours, never used to train models for your competitors. It's what Kelsey was always meant to be, and now, finally, what it is.

What This Means Going Forward

We didn't do this to become a different company. We did it because we believe every real estate operator deserves to own their business intelligence. Your data, your brand, your tone, your context, your approach: that's what makes your business and community unique. You chose Kelsey to adopt your communities' unique voice as opposed to deploying a generic out-of-the-box AI tool that sounds like your competitor down the street. Our belief in community differentiation is why we built Kelsey to be customizable. And, it's exactly what Venn's infrastructure was built to protect.

None of this happens without the people who backed this vision before it looked like this. First, a huge thank you to all of the Zuma team, customers, partners, and friends who backed us from day one. Without you, Zuma would not exist. Secondly, thank you to our investors for believing in Kelsey, in this team, and in what real estate technology could look like when done right.

If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I mean that.
